More Than Just a Martial Art: Experience the Life-Changing Power of Jiu Jitsu!
At Gym Jitsu Allen, our Youth Striking Program introduces kids and teens (ages 10–17) to the exciting world of Boxing, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai. These disciplines build confidence, coordination, and discipline while giving students a safe, structured way to learn striking skills.
Parents choose striking arts because they combine fitness, self-defense, and character development in one program. Every class emphasizes respect, focus, and effort—lessons that extend far beyond the gym.Boxing teaches the art of punches, footwork, and defense. Kids build hand-eye coordination, speed, and awareness.
Kickboxing combines punches, kicks, and movement to improve agility, balance, and endurance.
Muay Thai, known as the “Art of Eight Limbs,” adds knees and elbows to striking, giving students a complete martial arts foundation.
For kids, training in these arts means:
Learning how to defend themselves responsibly.
Developing athletic skills in a fun, structured environment.
Building mental toughness and discipline.
Gaining self-confidence through visible progress.
Confidence & Discipline – Kids learn to set goals, work hard, and believe in themselves.
Fitness & Health – Training builds strength, endurance, coordination, and flexibility.
Self-Defense & Safety – Practical skills to avoid bullying or unsafe situations.
Focus & Respect – Martial arts teach students to listen, concentrate, and respect coaches and peers.
Stress Relief & Energy Outlet – A positive way to channel energy while having fun.
Teamwork & Friendships – Students train together and support each other’s growth.
Perfect for new students, these classes introduce the basics of stance, footwork, and strikes. Kids learn proper technique in a safe and fun environment, with an emphasis on discipline and confidence.
As students progress, they refine their techniques and begin to combine strikes into combinations. Classes also include defense, counters, and controlled partner drills. Motivated students may also prepare for youth exhibitions or competition if desired.
Professional Coaching – Our instructors have decades of combined experience in Boxing, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai.
Safe Environment – Kids learn striking in a controlled setting, with safety gear and structured drills.
Family-Friendly Academy – Parents can watch classes from our comfortable seating area and see their child’s growth in real time.

Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned grappler, the coaches do an excellent job of meeting you where you’re at and helping you improve. The coaching staff is knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely invested in each student’s progress. The gym is clean, well-maintained and has all essential equipment. Mats are sanitized regularly and hygiene rules are taken seriously. One of the biggest strengths of Gym Jitsu is the community. Everyone here trains hard but also supports one another. There’s no ego, just group of people trying to get better and help each other along the way. Enejan Kuliyeva2025-09-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am fairly new to jiu jitsu and I feel like there is great level of training from the professors. Everyone is super inviting and friendly, and I'm glad to be a part of the community here. David Smith2025-09-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is my son’s first time doing Jui-Jitsu and I have to say that I’m truly impress with the dedication of the instructors. My son had a rough start with not wanting to do any sports but he’s been slowly coming around. The instructors really value the well being of the kids and take their time in explaining the moves. They don’t rush kids if they’re not in the mood which has helped my son. What I like most about the gym is that they offer several other classes (boxing, kickboxing, etc…) for both youths and adults. I would definitely recommend Gym Jitsu to anyone who is wanting to try Jui-Jitsu. Maribel Paraguya2025-09-03Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great customer service, quality instructors and plenty of space for sparring. They are amazing with the kids and it’s just the place if you want your kids to be introduced to Jiu Jitsu. Damion Selmon2025-09-03Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Only been a couple weeks, but I’m very happy with this place in every way. Instructors, admin, facilities, and location to my home couldn’t be better. We all have choices on where to train or who we want to train our kids and I’m sure I would choose Gym Jitsu again and again. Check out their site and the bios of the people involved if you haven’t done so already. These guys are champion thoroughbreds and excellent with kids! Beau M. Everyone has been so patient with him and he’s learned so much in his short time taking classes. Can’t recommend GYMJITSU enough! Lexi B2025-08-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. As a beginner in striking and Jiu Jitsu, this place is great. Coaches are willing to teach you from the ground up and are very sociable. Can not get enough! Lo Bo2025-08-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend!! We tried another gym trial class first, then checked out Gym Jitsu to compare and I was very impressed with the skills the instructors were teaching my son compared to the other gym. As a mom, new to BJJ, I have a lot to learn about the sport - but I can already tell based on the instructors’ extensive experience and one on one training methods that my 6yo son will be in good hands and learn a ton without some of the fluff you see in the other gyms’ younger aged classes. Very excited to see how he progresses under this amazing gym’s leadership! Cassie Farley2025-08-27
Our classes are structured to give students a well-rounded foundation in striking arts. Each session blends technical instruction with fun, age-appropriate training methods.
Students practice controlled sparring designed for learning, not winning. Instructors supervise closely to ensure safety while kids apply their skills in real-time scenarios.
Heavy bag training develops power, endurance, and precision. Kids learn to throw effective punches, kicks, knees, and elbows with proper technique.
Repetition builds confidence. Our students work on punching, kicking, and combination drills that sharpen coordination and timing.
Good movement is the foundation of every martial art. Kids practice balance, agility, and ring positioning so they can attack and defend effectively.
Through pad work and reflex drills, students improve speed, reaction time, and accuracy—skills that benefit both sports and everyday life.
Children learn both sides of striking:
Bob and Weave – Staying safe under pressure.
Parrying – Redirecting strikes with control.
Counters – Responding smartly to an opponent’s attacks
Is striking safe for kids?
Yes. All training is age-appropriate, supervised, and taught with safety equipment. We emphasize control and technique, not aggression.
Does my child need experience?
No prior martial arts or sports experience is required. We welcome beginners and help every child progress at their own pace.
What gear will my child need?
Gloves, hand wraps, and shin guards are standard. Starter packages are available through the academy.
Will my child have to compete?
Competition is optional. Many kids train just for fitness, confidence, and fun.
Give your child the opportunity to build confidence, discipline, and fitness while learning real martial arts skills. At Gym Jitsu Allen, our Youth Boxing, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai programs empower kids to grow stronger both physically and mentally.
